Quartz Capillary Tubes Overview

Quartz capillary tubes are high-precision fused quartz tubes with small outer diameters and tightly controlled wall thicknesses. They are commonly used in applications that require high dimensional consistency, material stability, and chemical resistance. TotalQuartzWorks maintains long-term, stable production of quartz capillary tubes in a wide range of specifications, supporting both standard sizes and custom requirements for laboratory, industrial, and advanced technical applications.

Available Structures

We offer various capillary tube configurations, including round capillary tubes, semi-circular tubes, square and rectangular capillary tubes, round-bottom capillaries, fiber sleeves, coated capillary tubes, as well as U-shaped, bent, and other special structural components. Designs and processing can be adapted according to assembly methods and application conditions.

Material Grades

Multiple quartz material grades are available to meet different application requirements. These include industrial-grade 3N fused quartz for general laboratory and industrial use; optical-grade fused quartz (JGS1, JGS2) for applications requiring high optical transmission and material purity; and high-purity NC4X fused quartz with a purity level up to 4N8 (SiO₂ ≥ 99.998%), suitable for semiconductor, precision sensing, and impurity-sensitive environments. In addition, customized medical-grade quartz capillary tubes with purity levels of 5N and above are available for medical and life science applications requiring higher standards of cleanliness, biocompatibility, and dimensional stability.

Applications & Tolerances

Quartz capillary tubes are widely used in laboratory analysis, medical devices, sensor components, communications and optical systems, advanced materials research, as well as fluid transfer and protective structures operating in high-temperature or corrosive environments.
For dimensional control, quartz capillary tubes with outer diameters below 6 mm are produced with a standard tolerance of ±0.05 mm, while precision custom products can achieve ±0.02 mm. For medical and other high-precision applications, tolerances can be further tightened to ±0.01 mm to meet strict requirements for assembly consistency and repeatability.
